I had some very serious concerns that I wanted brought out and it was evident to me that as a resident, I would only receive 'lip service' from City Officials. I used this Website to 'publicize' my election campaign.

Upon being elected, this Website would then become my OFFICIAL HAMBURG CITY COUNCIL MEMBER Website. While I was clearly elected to office, former Council Member Mueller declined the offer and opportunity, by the City Council, to be appointed to the remaining City Council vacancy (a two year term as I recall) as the 'runner- up' vote- getter. Then, the offer was made to 'Second Runner- Up' Gregonis.

Unlike Mueller, Gregonis accepted the appointment offered him by the City Council. IMAGINE: In essence, Gregonis, who didn't even file for the position, became a Hamburg City Council Member BY DEFAULT !! I thought, "This CAN'T be good !!" (As it turned out, it WASN'T !!) But, there's one more  important point that you probably haven't realized or didn't even notice, but certainly you  should be made aware of. You'll note that while I DID file for re- election this past fall, I did NOT actively seek anyone's vote !! Did you get ANYTHING from me in the mail, or see ANYTHING posted on my Website, asking for your support and/or for your vote last fall ?? Obviously, the answer is a resounding "NO" !! The November 5th letter I sent to all City residents (see below) merely explained some of what was really taking place within our City.

My intent in filing for re- election was to send Hamburg residents the  clear message that while I'm not a 'quitter', I also WANTED NO PART WHATSOEVER of what had already taken place in our City by its own City Officials. So, I didn't 'seek any votes'. I have always been a staunch proponent of citizens "knowing what 'their government' is doing". During my four year ELECTED City Council term, it was ALWAYS my intention, by means of my OFFICIAL HAMBURG CITY COUNCIL MEMBER Website, to let Hamburg residents know what was 'going on' within their City by their City Officials. The primary 'target audience' of my Website then as a City Council Member, was the Hamburg resident. But it's popularity also attracted thousands and thousands AND THOUSANDS (over 4. It seemed that people were interested in, and wanted to know, just what 'goes on' in 'Small Town America'.

Now, I've shifted the 'focus' of this Website from my 'target audience' of residents within the City to those other loyal, interested souls that found my Website about what was taking place in Hamburg, so interesting.
